Hear This From Me

Getting around algorithms so we can hear each other again

Hear This From Me

We don't all see the same stories anymore. On issues like ICE, many of us are reacting to completely different information—and often talking past each other.

This is an attempt to share one story directly, person to person.

Write your email

Why this exists

Social media decides what each of us sees. That means Americans aren't just disagreeing—we're often responding to entirely different realities.

Email is different. It's slower. More personal. And it still carries trust.

Some people are choosing to share personal experiences this way instead of posting publicly.

Not to persuade. Not to debate. Just to be heard.

What we're asking you to do

Write one honest email about your personal experience with ICE and send it to people you trust.

That's it.

You decide:

There's no right way to do this.

You don't need to answer all of these. They're just here to help you start:

  • Why am I writing this?
  • What is my connection to ICE?
  • One moment I remember clearly
  • What this experience changed for me—or made me question

Write your message

Start with the draft below, then make it yours. Include as much or as little as feels right.

This site never sends or saves anything. It just helps you write. When you're ready, we hand your words off to your own email app—only you can hit send.

Include in your message

If this feels hard

Many people hesitate before sending their email. That's normal.

You might receive:

All of these mean your story was heard.

You're not responsible for changing anyone's mind—only for sharing the truth as you know it.

Safety & privacy

Share only what you're comfortable sharing. Don't include information that could put you or others at risk.

Nothing you write here is saved.

Sharing this

If you know someone who might want a quieter way to share something personal, you're welcome to pass this along.

This isn't a campaign. It's just something people are choosing to do.
